Thomas E. Spratt
Personal Bio. Born in Brooklyn, moved to Long Island in 1960. Became a NY Met fan in 1966 and am unable to switch. One hobby is photography. Here are Flickr albums of pictures of Gettysburg and Washington DC (taken at an ACS Meeting)
Professional Bio. Went to the University of Rochester, with the aim of being a doctor, but switched to Chemistry. Received my PhD from the University of Chicago with the enzymologist Tom Kaiser and had a post-doc with Heinz Floss at Ohio State where I studied DNA damage with chiral-methyl groujps. My second post-doc was with Steve Hecht at the American Health Foundation, where I began my interests in mechanisms of DNA damage, repair and mutagens.
